My work has been inspired by encounters I make while walking, cycling or travelling in public transport in my daily routines. I’m always seeking for the strangeness in the ordinary to catch my eye. As a foreigner and constant traveller without a settlement, London (or any new city I inhabit for a while) becomes my new home. I create personal connections with these alien spaces in order to conquer them and make them feel mine.
The perception of the quotidian, my daily routines and the exploration of what at first instance may seem banal, has an impact in my work. For a long time I recollected abandoned objects and became emotionally attached to them. These derelict remains of a home turned into oblivion, needed a resurrection. The romantic touch present in all these works testify of a close relationship with the city, an obsessive fixation similar to that of love.
